British Ambassador Pollitt paid farewell call on Health Minister Basnet

KATHMANDU: British Ambassador to Nepal, Nicola Pollitt, paid a farewell call on Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet. During the meeting held at the latter's office, the two exchanged views on cooperation and collaboration between the two countries in the health sector. The Minister presented possible ways for ensuring the continuity of the UK's assistance to Nepal's health industry. The two also discussed the matter of sending nursing force from Nepal to the UK. "The ambassador is leaving for home soon upon the completion of her term. In Monday's meeting, we discussed three issues with a major highlight.  Such issues are safe and systematic migration of Nepal's nursing force in the UK, better medical provisions for Gurkhas in the British Army and the implementation of UK-assisted new programmes in the health sector," Minister Basnet said.
