NCC’s suggestion to streamline administrative services by making timetable

KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has urged Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal to make the administrative services of the country efficient and orderly. While congratulating and wishing the newly appointed Chief Secretary Aryal, NCC suggested making government service delivery efficient by making a timetable. NCC President Rajendra Malla informed that in the meeting with Aryal, the chamber suggested making the service sector directly connected with the people result-oriented through effective coordination among government agencies. He stressed the need for a policy arrangement to immediately change the compulsion to stand in queue for hours even when paying taxes. Similarly, NCC has drawn the attention of Chief Secretary Aryal to facilitate the progress of economic bills under consideration in the Parliament. According to NCC officials, there were some problems that could not be resolved owing to the pending financial and other bills related to the private sector. The Chamber also stressed the need to bring in international investment for the country's economic development and prosperity. NCC officials urged Chief Secretary Aryal to organise a foreign investment summit as soon as possible, especially for the promotion of large hydropower projects, infrastructure development, and industrial and tourism sectors. Malla appealed to the newly appointed chief secretary to formulate a plan keeping the information technology sector as a high priority. Responding to NCC officials, Chief Secretary Aryal said making efficient service delivery to the people is the highest priority of the government. He said that the government is sensitive to the provision of quality services, and working on making a long-term policy plan. He opined that the government and private sector should work together for the economic development and prosperity of the country. He also informed that policy arrangement is being prepared to increase the target of revenue collection and make capital expenditure on time by making the customs administration more efficient. On the occasion, NCC suggested that a timetable should be worked out for the increase in capital expenditure. READ ALSO:
