KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday reported 1,981 new cases of coronavirus infection. With this, the Covid 19 count has reached 835,927. Additionally, 463 persons have tested positive for the infection in the antigen test.
Likewise, the MoHP has recorded one death from Covid 19 in the past 24 hours. As of Tuesday, the nationwide death toll from Covid 19 has reached 11,607. Presently, there are 9,522 active cases in Nepal.
Meanwhile, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have registered 1,286 cases in the past 24 hours. Kathmandu logged 980 new cases, Lalitpur logged 221 cases and Bhaktapur logged 85 cases, as per the data released by the MoHP.
As many as 313 patients of Covid 19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. As of Tuesday, a total of 814,798 people have recovered from the viral disease, the data released by the MoHP showed. Presently, the recovery rate stands at 97.5 per cent while the case fatality rate is at 1.4 per cent.
Earlier, the MoHP on Monday had reported 1,357 cases of coronavirus infection that had taken the nationwide tally to 833,946.
As of Tuesday, a total of 4,948,237 persons have undergone the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Presently, there are 9,522 persons staying in isolation while 113 others have been placed in quarantine in the country.
Meanwhile, more than 309.41 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 5.84 million people have died from Covid 19, Covid 19 Global tracker data shown by Reuters. It has been reported that Covid 19 infections are still rising in 120 countries.
