GANDAKI: A meeting between Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel and French Ambassador to Nepal Gilles Bourbao took place at the former's office today. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and assistance between the two countries.
Reminding assistance by France to Nepal in the extraction of petroleum products and water distribution in the past, the CM expected continuation of such help in the days to come.
Relations between the two countries have been consolidating since the establishment of their relationship in 1949, he said.
Saying that tourism is the base of the development of the province, the Chief Minister expected an additional inflow of tourists from France to Nepal amid the construction of Pokhara International Airport reaching its final stage.
He also expected France's investment in the tourism promotion and hydropower sector of Nepal.
In response, the Ambassador said that France was ready to help Nepal in its multi-sectoral development. He also pledged to provide assistance on his part for the promotion of tourism of the province and surrounding areas.
