Qatar Airways aircraft carrying Vero Cell vaccines from China fails to land at TIA

KATHMANDU: An aircraft of Qatar Airways carrying a shipment of Vero Cell vaccines from China failed to land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this morning due to adverse weather. The aeroplane loaded with vaccines given to Nepal under the COVAX facility returned to China. The supplies incorporating 121,887 doses of vaccines is assisted by the Asian Development Bank. According to Chief of Management Division, Department of Health Services, Surendra Chaurasiya, the vaccines will arrive by tomorrow. Similarly, 1,870,500 doses of vaccines will be arriving from India today itself. So far the government has imported 35,466,980 doses of Covid 19 vaccines and has administered 21,654,109 doses.
