KATHMANDU: Children and teenagers aged 12 to 17 years will be administered Moderna vaccines against Covid 19 in Humla district. Around 9,621 children and teenagers in the district will be inoculated.
The first dose of the vaccines will be administered through 100 vaccination centres set up at seven rural municipalities in Humla from December 19 to 29, according to the Chief of the Health Service Office, Prem Bahadur Singh.
The health workers, as well as women health volunteers in the villages, will be mobilised soon along with the vaccines for this purpose, Singh said.
Likewise, the booster dose of this vaccine will be given from January 16 to 26 at the concerned vaccination centres.
However, the children at Namkha Rural Municipality's wards 4, 5 and 6 will not be given the jabs since it will be impossible for the health workers to travel to these remote areas along with the vaccines due to snowfall.
Children at these wards will be vaccinated after winter is over, the Office said.
