Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital launches PICU facility

BHAKTAPUR: Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital (NKFMH) based in Madhyapur Thimi has added five paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) beds. Madhyapur Thimi Mayor and hospital chair Madan Sundar Shrestha said the five-bed ICU facility for children is now available at the hospital. The hospital functions under the supervision of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality. Photo: RSS[/caption] According to him, NKFMH was the second hospital that started providing PCR test facility after Teku Hospital in the country. “The establishment of the oxygen plant within the hospital, expansion of ventilator beds, and availability of dialysis facility and the launching of NICU are our latest achievements,” Mayor Shrestha said. The hospital has a total of 102 beds including 25 high-dependency unit (HDU) beds and 10 ventilator beds for patients above 17. It has been learnt that the NKFMH has been preparing to operate a nursing college.
