Daayitwa completes its 8th Fellowship Program

On  September 2, Daayitwa completed its 8th cohort of the fellowship program marking the end of their summer fellowship program that started in June and also organised Daayitwa Nepal Public Service Fellowship Symposium 2018 at Yala Maya Kendra. The event was graced by Tham Maya Thapa, Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens

Speaking on the occasion Minister Thapa said “If we want to make inclusive economic development in Nepal, it is impossible to fulfill that dream without the participation and determination of youth. I want to congratulate Daayitwa for endeavouring in an intervention that gives the youth a platform to interact with the government.”

The Daayitwa Nepal Public Service Fellowship Symposium celebrated the journey of eleven fellows who worked with the Government of Nepal during the summer to produce meaningful research on Access to Investment, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Enterprise Value Chain, Youth Employment and Governance and Bureaucracy Reform. The fellows exhibited the findings of their research at the program. A panel discussion about research and significance of evidence-based policy which was moderated by Apurba K.C, Leadership Research Officer at Daayitwa was conducted with panelists comprising of Neha Raj Bhandari and Nischal S. Bhandari, both Daayitwa fellows of 2018 and Shalini Gupta, Research Officer. It also organised two cafe conversations on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Youth Employment.
