Women Leadership Summit 2018

On 8 August, Women Leadership Summit hosted a ‘Bring It Back’ event at Ageno: The Hestia to share the learning experiences of working women from diverse professional backgrounds. Women Leadership Summit (WLS) is a six-month leadership institute initiated by Ujyalo Foundation in 2016. WLS aims to encourage more young women to take up leadership and decision-making roles at workplace. The main theme of the 2018 edition of the summit was titled, ‘Leadership Beyond Binaries and Boundaries’. The members initiated a dialogue on the status-quo of women leadership in Nepal. Additionally, the summit aimed to recognise the struggles of women, enhance leadership skills of young professional women, encourage women to capacitate other women at workplaces and build leadership capacity amongst young women through a feminist approach. The event included opening plenary with distinguished women leaders where the attendees could learn about gender, patriarchy, sexuality and participate in various activities including a feminist circle.
