Global Shapers Kathmandu Hub rebuilds Chunikhel Health Post

A A- A+
On 22 July, the Chunikhel health-post, rebuilt by the Global Shapers Kathmandu Hub in partnership with Direct Relief—a US based humanitarian aid organization, was jointly inaugurated by Honorable Minister of Health, Upendra Yadav, Parliamentarian and Young Global Leader, Gagan Thapa and Founding Curator of the Kathmandu Hub and Young Global Leader, Aashmi Rana. “We were working in two rooms after the earthquake destroyed the health-post. Thanks to the Shapers we have a full health-post now,” said Shri Krishna Shrestha, Ward Secretary of Chunikhel. The Mayor of Budhanilkantha and other local governing bodies were also present in the inauguration. The health-post is a part of Shapers’ efforts to assist in post-earthquake re-building and re-construction. The Shapers have already re-built and inaugurated a model Government School in Budhanilkantha that houses 500 students and another Health Post in Sindhupalchowk, which was one of the first health-posts to be re-built post the 2015 earthquake. “There are a lot of areas in KTM that are very remote and this is one of them. I want to thank the Global Shapers and the Young Global Leaders from the Ministry of Health,” said the heath minister.
