A A- A+

Nabil Bank has officially started operation of 12 new branches in rural municipalities in Province No. 5, Karnali Province and Province No. 7. The branches were officially opened electronically by the Finance Minister Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada along with Shambhu Prasad Poudyal, Chairman of Nabil Bank in a programme organised by the bank on July 17 at Hotel Annapurna.

Sakchyam has extended support to Nabil Bank in setting up these branches. UKaid Sakchyam’s Access to Finance support to Nabil Bank was made possible as an outcome of the consultations between Ministry of Finance (MoF), Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and Nepal Bankers’ Associations (NBA) to expedite bank openings to support local governments beginning the new financial year in July 2018.  Sakchyam has supported 54 new remote branch locations in Province 5, Karnali Province and Province 7 by partnering with 13 Commercial Banks.

Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada expressed his views on the need for financial inclusion and access to finance for the remote areas.

With the additional 12 new branches, Nabil bank is providing its services through a wide domestic network of 74 branches, 115 ATMs, more than 1500 Nabil Remit agents throughout the nation and many correspondents across the globe.
