TEDxJawalakhel 2018

A A- A+

TEDxJawalakhel 2018 presented by Education Park, with its executive board members Mohit Sirohi, Gopal Sonthaliya, Raghav Gupta, in its first edition, brought together various speakers from different walks of life who directly or indirectly have contributed and continue to do so for the betterment of the country.

According to the organisers, the reason for putting up the programme was to align with the objective of the National Planning Commission (NPC) i.e. to graduate the country from a least developed country to a developing country by 2022. Inarguably, the event was designed to bring the stories of development to the audience. In the similar vein, the theme for TEDxJawalakhel 2018 was “Witnessing the progress”.

The event was an opportunity for the audience to get familiar with the unsung stories of entrepreneurship, building a heritage city, the fusion of western vocals with the eastern instruments and many other uplifting tales. The audience also benefitted from the profound insight of German Ambassador to Nepal, Roland Schafer and his remarks on progress.

The theme of TEDxJawalakhel 2018 was not just contained to the gripping narratives, on display was the same type of food and juice that fitted to the core theme of the event. There were laphing from Lhayul Laphing, juice from Falful Juice and customised mugs and muffins from Urban Girls—products from emerging startups.

Some of the speakers of the event were Anil Chitrakar (Social Entrepreneur), Sixit Bhatta (Entrepreneur), Rohit John Chetri (Musician), Nikita Acharya (Entrepreneur), Bivishika Bhandari (Feminist), and Pradeep Ghimire (Founder of Debate Network Nepal).
