FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour begins its journey

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour kicked-off its journey and run-up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, which will begin in June 14. The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour 2018 by Coca-Cola, began its journey from Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium in Russia on September 9, 2017. The Russian leg of the FIFA trophy was officially launched when FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented President of Russia Vladimir Putin with the trophy. Following this, the trophy has launched this year’s tour from Colombo-Sri Lanka and will reach a total of 54 countries including Pakistan and China. In 2006, FIFA and long-term partner Coca-Cola took an ambitious first step on a remarkable new journey by taking the original FIFA World Cup Trophy, flying it around the world as a build-up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany. During this tour, the trophy visited 31 countries in over three months, giving fans worldwide the chance to see the ultimate prize. In 2010, the trophy visited 84 countries, including 50 African nations in celebration of the first FIFA World Cup on the continent, hosted in South Africa. In 2014, the FIFA World Cup Trophy made its longest journey. More than a million fans got to see the prize close up, including ardent Nepali football fans.
