Jawa

KTM 390 Adventure

Last month KTM launched the most awaited KTM 390 Adventure in Nepal marking KTM’s entry into the emerging adventure motorcycles market in Nepal. The 390 Adventure is purpose built for adventure travel and features a lightweight Trellis frame chassis, a long travel suspension by WP with 170mm of wheel travel in the front and 177mm of wheel travel in the rear, knobby tyres by Metzeller, high ground clearance of 200mm, long wheelbase, extendable windshield and a protective bash plate for the engine. The most differentiating aspect of the 390 Adventure which is priced at Rs 999,900 is that it comes packed with a set of first in class electronics or rider aids so far limited only to superbikes. The 390 Adventure builds on the versatility of the KTM 390 Duke engine: a state of the art DOHC single cylinder head technology derived from KTM’s high-performance race models, and electronics such as EFI and ride by wire resulting in class leading 43 Hp of power and 37 Nm of torque.

CF Moto 400GT

The CF Moto 400 GT is the sports touring model of the 400cc platform models from CF Moto. The 400 GT’s styling is derived from the CF Moto 650 GT and comes with a wide fairing housing a twin LED headlamp set-up with a strip of LED lights. Fairing mounted rear view mirrors, full-colour instrument console and a flat, wide handlebar with an upright riding position offers a comfortable riding position. Like its naked street sibling, the CF Moto 400 GT is powered by a 400cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which puts out around 42.2 bhp of maximum power and 34.4 Nm of peak torque. It has conventional telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock suspensions with standard dual-channel ABS and dual disc brake set up on the front wheel whereas the motorcycle has a single disc on the rear wheel. The 400 GT has a fuel tank capacity of 17-litres and a kerb weight of 210 kg. The motorcycle hasn’t entered officially in Nepal but interested motorcycle enthusiasts can contact CF Moto Nepal to book the 400 GT.

Bajaj Avenger Street 160 with ABS

Last month Hansraj Hulaschand and Company, the authorised distributor of Bajaj motorcycles in Nepal, launched an all-new Avenger Street 160 equipped with ABS in Nepal. The new Avenger Street 160 has a sportier design with a roadster-design LED DRLs headlamp and street control handlebars for easy visibility and manoeuvrability in the city or highway. It is powered by 160cc DTS-I Engine which generates 15 PS of power and 13.5 Nm of torque. The motorcycle uses a 5-speed manual transmission, and for safety, the Avenger Street 160 comes with a 280mm disc brake at the front side and a 130mm drum brake on the rear end accompanied by single-channel ABS as standard. For the comfort of the rider, it comes with long slung, long seat, and a unique extended footrest position. The Avenger Street 160 comes in Spicy Red and Ebony colour variants at the price of Rs 319,900.

Yamaha MT-15

Since its launch in August 2019, Yamaha MT-15 priced at Rs 434,900,- has been popular amongst the youth motorcycle enthusiasts. The MT-15 mounts a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, 6-speed transmission, 155cc fuel-injected engine along with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system on a Delta box frame. Yamaha said that the motorcycle triggers agile and strong-feeling acceleration and flaunts standout traits of the styling with enhanced control postures along with A&S clutch and single-channel ABS, and thus far it hasn’t disappointed anyone. The MT-15 is being known for striking the ideal balance of agile acceleration, agile handling, and advanced design and the company has been targeting the youths who are looking for snappy rides with the maximum feel of torque and acceleration in 150-200cc segment. The advanced design expressing ‘Torque and Agility’ is further accentuated by minimal-look headlight enhancing dynamic front face styling, a short tail with a vertical taillight and overall ‘graphics and finish’ that illustrates the unpredictable MT style. The motorcycle with its VVA engine for agile acceleration along with model-specific ECU, optimised secondary reduction gear ratio for snappy riding in town, A&S clutch for stress-free gear shifts, rider-centred craftsmanship with a great deal of freedom on a tight, concentrated silhouette, 140 mm width rear tire and 282 mm front disc brake with single-channel ABS for excellent stopping power.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 250

Husqvarna Motorcycles officially made its Nepal debut last month and its scrambler-style 2020 Svartpilen 250 has been grabbing attention of many motorcycle enthusiasts. The motorcycle is powered by the same BS6-compliant 248.8 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that does duty on the KTM 250 Duke and produces 29.5 hp of power at 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The gearbox is a six-speed unit equipped with a slip and assist clutch. The Svartpilen 250 shares its underpinnings with the KTM 250 Duke including the drive-train. Key highlights include a neo-retro design language, lightweight steel trellis frame, WP suspension with upside-down forks, Bosch Dual Channel ABS system, LED headlight and taillight, and 17 inch cast aluminium wheels. Since the Svartpilen 250 is a scrambler, it comes with a tall single-piece handlebar for a more upright riding posture with a contrasting dark colour fuel tank whereas a silver tail section give the motorcycle a rigorous look. The motorcycle has eight-spoke rims with dual-purpose MRF Revz FD tyres for soft off-roading and holds 9.5-litres of fuel claiming fuel efficiency is 35 kmpl whereas the ground clearance stands at 145mm and the seat height is a massive 835mm. Suspension duties are taken care of by upside-down WP fork at the front and a monoshock with adjustable preload at the rear. In terms of braking, it gets the brake setup of a 320 mm disc Bybre four-piston calliper on the front wheel and a single-piston calliper on a 230 mm disc on the rear wheel, supported by a dual-channel ABS. The Svartpilen 250 weights 154 kg and is priced at Rs 569,900.
