Unilever Nepal Limited completes 25 years in Nepal

Unilever CEO Paul Polman visited Nepal to mark the 25th anniversary of Unilever Nepal Limited. Polman was accompanied by EVP Unilever South Asia, Sanjiv Mehta and Unilever Nepal Chairman Pradeep Banerjee. During his visit, Polman reaffirmed that the company would continue to step up its capital investment in the country by enhancing its local manufacturing capacity. He said, “It is our endeavor to further strengthen our business in Nepal and continue to deliver consistent, competitive, profitable and responsible growth”. Polman launched Fair & Lovely Foundation in partnership with Maiti Nepal to provide scholarships to 10 underprivileged girl students each year for two year fulltime course at the intermediate level. In addition to this, women from Maiti Nepal will be provided vocational trainings to take up job opportunities in UNL’s value chain.
