At a program organised by the US Embassy, Ministry of Commerce and FNCCI, the United States has urged the government and private sector of Nepal for maximum utilization of new duty free tariff benefits by increasing focus on exports of products that have been granted preferential access by Trade Preferences Act for Nepal. The embassy organised the program the Max Trade USA as part of its initiatives to being together a wide variety of economic actors to learn about the new duty free program, what products qualify, and how to use this to boost business. The Nepal specific trade preference came into effect in December 2016 and is authorized until 2025 in a bid to help Nepal recover economically post earthquake.
