13 companies approved to set up industries in Bhairahawa SEZ

The special economic zone committee has approved 13 companies to set up industries in the Bhairahawa SEZ, disclosed Chandika Prasad Bhattarai, executive Director of SEZ Development Committee. Bhairahawa SEz has 69 plots and 35 plots have been allotted and must complete construction within one and a half years. The approved companies include Golchha Organisation, VOITH, Jagdamba Group and Siddharth Group. Industries being set up include agriculture, footwear, synthetic, plastic, herbal, steel and pipe manufacturing among others. The Parliament on August 30 has endorsed the SEZ Bill putting a ban on any strike and protest within SEZ. It has also guaranteed 24 hours electricity supply.
