Nepal records Rs 903.39bn remittance inflows in 9 months of current FY

KATHMANDU: The remittance inflows increased 24.2% to Rs 903.39 billion in nine months of current fiscal year 2022/23, according to the macroeconomic and financial situation report released by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). The remittance amount is against a decrease of 0.2% in the same period of the previous year. In US Dollar terms, remittance inflows increased 13.9% to 6.92 billion in nine months against a decrease of 1.8% in the same period of the previous year. The number of Nepali workers (institutional and individual-new) taking approval for foreign employment increased 51.5% to 387,839 until mid-April 2023. The number of Nepali workers (Renew entry) taking approval for foreign employment increased 5.5% to 217,959 in the review period. It had increased 199.9% in the same period of the previous year. Likewise, net transfer increased 22.8% to Rs.996.88 billion in the review period. Such a transfer had decreased 0.4% in the same period of the previous year. READ ALSO:
