A A- A+
Pioneer Moto Corp, the newly appointed sole authorized distributor of Nissan Motor Co Ltd for Nepal has launched a new compact SUV Nissan Terrano in the market. According to the company, Nissan Terrano comes with a host exiting new features that will strengthen its smarter and bolder appeal to customers. “The New Nissan Terrano is equipped with numerous optional new equipment for added style and convenience. The result is a compact SUV that complements the lifestyle of today’s smart consumers—an attractive choice for people expecting a smarter SUV with a bold road presence,” says Pioneer Moto Corp in a statement. The design of Terrano looks bold and muscular, yet sleek and sporty at the same time. The exterior design is accentuated by chrome accents and trim. The 4-pod design headlamps make the SUV kook even more stylish, and the chunky alloy wheels exhibit robustness. The roof rail and the spoiler add to the overall sporty look of Terrano. The SUV has retained the model’s high ground clearance of 205 mm, has a turning radius of 5.2 m, and has approach angle and departure angle of 28.5 and 33.9 degrees respectively. The SUV is equally stylish on the inside with its premium dual tone interiors and numerous features of convenience. Terrano is offered in two variants, a petrol one and a diesel one. The petrol version is powered by a 1.6 litre engine that delivers a maximum power of 77 Kw at 5,750 rpm and a peak torque of 148 Nm at 3,750 rpm. The engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. Likewise, the diesel variant runs on a 1.5 litre engine that generates a maximum output of 81 Kw at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 245 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The diesel engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. For safety, Terrano has dual front airbags that protect the occupants in the event of collision. The SUV is developed with a strong monocoque body construction that offers better safety. Terrano is equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) that detects the direction driver wants to turn the car and applies the brake accordingly on each wheel. It not only improves cornering speeds but also saves the vehicle from skidding off the road while taking steep turns. In addition, there are other safety features like Hill start assist, ABS and EBD with braking assist. There are 22 new features in the new Terrano that include new premium dual tone interior, cruise control, 7.0 touchscreen navigation systems, steering mounted audio/phone control, one touch lane change indicator, anti-pinch driver side window and new steering wheel design. Together, all the new features enhance the amenities for the driver and occupants, rendering a more pleasurable driving experience, says the company. With all these features, Terrano is priced at Rs 4,299,000 for the petrol variant and Rs 5,399,000 for the diesel variant. The manufacturer offers a warranty period of 1-year or 20,000 km and an extended warranty of additional 2-year or 10,000 km is offered by Pioneer Moto Corp.
