Tata Tiago: Tuned to Turn Heads

Sipradi Trading, the authorised distributor of Tata Motors for Nepal, launched its sporty hatchback Tata Tiago in the market in August last year at the NADA Auto Show. The hatchback has been a favourite with many since. According to the company, Tiago has set new segment benchmarks owing to its cutting edge design, technology and driving dynamics. Design Tata Tiago’s design looks elegant and compact and gives a truly sporty feel. The new Tata branding sits on the front grille, and is complimented by the three dimensional headlamps with smoked lens and sporty black bezel. The sharp tail lamp stresses the sporty stance of Tiago on the rear as well. Tiago’s interiors have been crafted with utmost precision for a premium feel. The dual-tone interiors of Tiago look inviting and have premium graphics on the fabric. The geometric texture accented with chrome handles, knitted fabrics, colour harmony, layered design theme with a dual tone interior, customisable air vents and body hugging seat bolsters all give it apremium up-market feel. Tiago comes equipped with an infotainment system designed by Harman, and comes with new segment-first applications like the Turn-by-Turn Navigation app and the Juke-Car app. The Multi information display instrument cluster offers access to a host of useful information about the vehicle and allows driver to control a variety of in-car features. Performance The stylish design of Tiago is complemented by enhanced performance and driving dynamics. Tiago is powered by a 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine delivering a maximum output of 85 psat 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 114 Nm at 3500 rpm. The engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission that comes with a gear shift recommendation feature that offers a smooth and efficient drive. The 3-cylinder Revotron engine is developed and globally benchmarked for a refined road performance. It has been designed and programmed to deliver superior fuel economy and a peppy driving experience with a segment first feature, the multi-drive mode – city and eco – making it equivalent to offering two engines in one. The two drive-modes are supported by an advanced Engine Management System (EMS). In addition, The Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system makes it easier to maneuver tight spots and maintain control at all times. Safety Tiago’s safety features include advanced ninth generation ABS with EBD Anti-lock Braking System ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution EBD and Corner Stability Control that ensure absolute safety in case of emergency braking by sensing the wheel speed and prevent wheel lock-up while maintaining directional control. Also, there are dual front airbags for protection in the event of collision. The rear parking sensors with display on infotainment screen and energy absorbing body structure offer better safety for the driver and occupants. Tata Tiago is offered with a warranty of 4-years or 75,000 kms, whichever is earlier. The hatchback is available in three variants – XE, XM and XZ priced at Rs 2,255,000, Rs 2,555,000 and Rs 2,855,000 respectively. Customers can choose from any of the six colour options: Striker Blue, Berry Red, Sunburst Orange, Espresso Brown, Pearlescent White and Platinum Silver.
