Yamaha Fascino: Flaunting Fashion

MAW Enterprises, the official distributor of Yamaha two-wheelers for Nepal, launched its premium scooter Yamaha Fascino in September 2015. Eversince, it has become a favourite with young riders for whom styling matters most. Going by looks, Fascino is arguably one of the best-styled Indian scooters available in the market. MAW Enterprises is also promoting Fascino as a fashionable two wheeler, maintaining looks as its strongest feature. According to Deepak Rauniyar, AGM, Sales and Business Development at MAW, Fascino is a unisex scooter, which is targeted at the youth that are attracted to modern looks and premium design.

Design

Fascino’s design is definitely distinctive, the type you won’t see in many scooters. The front of the scooter has a grille like 4-wheelers, along with Yamaha logo on a chrome finish. On either side of the logo are the nicely designed side lamps. The headlamp is very distinct, shaped like an eye. The overall front looks stylish and unique. The seat is long and spacious and extra cushioned for better comfort even on the roughest of roads. The rear of the scooter is even more distinct with a fashionably curved tail and chrome decor.

Features

Yamaha Fascino comes with numerous features of convenience that make your ride easy and comfortable. There is a stylish easy-to-read meter console that provides the necessary information at a glance. The foot-board is wider than many scooters making more leg room for the rider. There is a wide grab-bar that is makes it easy for pillion riders to mount and dismount. The under-seat storage is of 21 litres. There is another small pocket on the front for keeping small items right within reach. The hook under the seat can be used for hanging bags for easier ride. At 103 kgs, the scooter is quite light-weight. The ground clearance is 128 mm, and the wheelbase is 1,270 mm. The fuel tank capacity is of 5.2 litres. There is a telescopic suspension at the front, and the rear is supported by unit swing suspension. Both the tyres are tubeless, so no more worries of tyre punctures.

Engine

The scooter is powered by an air-cooled 4-stroke 113 cc Blue Core engine that delivers a maximum power of 7.1 ps at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.1 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Yamaha’s Blue Core engine is a refined new-generation engine that combines better engine strength, reduced emissions and reduced fuel consumption to offer a superior overall performance. The friction inside the engine is reduced and the combustion is more efficient than before. All of this gives Fascino a good performance and a pleasurable ride. According to the company, the scooter gives a mileage of around 40-45 kmpl. The scooter is available in five colour options: Sassy Cyan, Rouge Red, Haute White, Cool Cobalt and Tuxedo Black, there’s one to suit every personality. Fascino is priced at Rs 191,900. It comes with a warranty of 2-years or 24,000 kms, whichever is earlier.
