Turkish Airlines successfully completes SAFA 

KATHMANDU: Turkish Airlines successfully completed the Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) programme implemented by European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in 2021. Undergoing 74 assessments by 38 civil aviation authorities in 57 airports in Europe, Turkish Airlines, which always considers travel health and safety of its passengers paramount, became one of the most successful airlines in Europe with nearly zero finding (0.054 rating). This ratio became the most successful performance of Turkish Airlines to date and showed the continuous improvements of the flag carrier when it comes to flight safety. The programme that inspects foreign airline companies in Europe which is spearheaded by Directorate General of Civil Aviation in Turkey as a full member, aims to monitor the measurability and sustainability of flight safety. Turkish Airlines managed to excel greatly above EASA average (0.44 rating) at the programme which takes pre and post flight national and international regulations in account, inspecting nearly 500 requirements at a large scale. As a result of that effort, we successfully completed SAFA programme’s 2021 assessments at a much higher ratio compared to European average and proved our identity once again as a trusted airline. We will continue our efforts to keep increasing flight safety and travel comfort of our guests to a higher level every day.” By lowering its finding ratio and reaching perfect level in the SAFA program, a trusted safety parameter for aviation world, Turkish Airlines will continue its investments to improve its flight safety standards even more while increasing its guest’s travel comfort and take every measure possible for flight safety.
