GANDAKI: Tourism Entrepreneur Women Association Nepal (TEWAN) has initiated tourism promotion programme along Korala checkpoint in Myagdi and Mustang districts from today onward on the occasion of the 113th International Women's Day.
Representatives from tourism-related organisations and mediapersons are participating in the promotional programme organised with support from the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Ministry of Tourism, Gandaki Province and Pokhara Metropolitan City.
TEWAN President Kamala Giri shared that a four-day promotion programme has been put in place to bounce back Covid-battered tourism industry. The programme includes capacity building of local tourism entrepreneurs among others.
At the programme, it was shared that capacity building training and interaction will also be delivered for the youths and women entrepreneurs in Beni, Jomsom, Thini and Lomanthang.
Giri further informed that the promotion of religious and historical sites including Muktinath and monastery will be put in priority in the promotional programme up to Korala, Nepal-China border checkpoint.
Programme coordinator Shova Adhikari Poudel, TEWAN Secretary, shared that capacity building of local tourism entrepreneurs, digital marketing training, branding of local products and homestay promotion will be gradually carried out.
