Food festival to be organised in Chitwan on the occasion of Valentine’s Day

CHITWAN: Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN) is set to organise the 17th Food Festival in Sauraha, Chitwan district on the occasion of Valentine's Day. The food festival will be held from February 12 to 14. Programme coordinator Dhurba Giri shared that different types of local and foreign foods will be kept in the festival. Similarly, local art, culture and attire will also be put on display at the festival. The arrangement will be made where one can enjoy foods and cultural programmes on the street from Hattichowk to Dyak, said Giri. Likewise, art and culture of indigenous nationalities will also be performed in the evening every day during the festival. The organiser expected that around 5,000 tourists would visit the festival every day during the festival while making transactions worth Rs 30 million each day. Educational support will be provided to poor and intelligent students and priority will be given to lessening the use of plastic-made products with the objective of reducing environmental pollution, according to organiser.
