LOAN TERMS HIT AUTO MARKET BUT SALES TEAMS ARE POSITIVE
Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is the largest auto show in Nepal. In the 13th edition of this flagship event, B360 spoke with some NADA participants who lead the marketing and sales of their respective automobile brands about the impact of limitation on auto lending and their coping strategy.Sijan Neupane Marketing Manager, Agni Incorporated
Has the restriction on auto loan affected sales?
Yes to a large degree. Sales have been hit by around 50%.Considering the traffic and road situation of the country, do you think the auto market will grow?
The growth of the auto market is directly proportional to the development of the road. Traffic congestion is present only in Kathmandu Valley because there are not enough roads. Outside the valley, even existing roads become empty though they are narrower. How was 2016 in terms of sales? Are you hopeful that sales will pick up in 2017?
Sales were okay but not as good as we had expected. Certainly, sales will go up in 2017 because new roads are developing. We think we will see a rise by 25%.Do you work according to the market plan of the parent company or prepare your own?
We have to work according to the brand guideline but we do customize because the needs of the markets vary.
