Dhaka fabric expo to be held in Kathmandu from Dec 17-19

KATHMANDU: Nepal Handloom and Dhaka Cloth Entrepreneurs and Traders Association will organise an exhibition of various goods made out of the Dhaka fabric and handloom.

The exhibition will be held from December 17 to 19 in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. The exhibition is being organised with the objective of preserving and promoting the unique Dhaka products. A total of 40 stalls will be kept in the expo, Association coordinator Ramesh Shrestha informed the media at a news conference organised in the capital city on Sunday.

Stating that the Dhaka cloth has been weaved in the country since ancient times, he said the goods produced from this and the employment it generates would help make the national economy dynamic.

According to Shrestha, opportunities for business interaction will also be available during the event where the entrepreneurs could exchange the developments and explore potentials in this sector.

There are around 50,000 entrepreneurs involved in the Dhaka business. A national gathering of the entrepreneurs and traders will also be held coinciding with the exhibition.
