EC approves election programme for upcoming civic poll

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has endorsed election programme for the upcoming local level election. EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel shared that the commission has approved election programme ranging from nomination to voting scheduled to take place on May 13. According to the election programme, nomination of the candidates is scheduled for coming April 24 to 25, publication of list of candidates nominated on April 25 and complaint registration against candidates is set for April 26. Likewise, scrutiny on nomination paper and taking decision on complaint after scrutiny is set for April 27 to 28 and publication of list of candidates nominated is scheduled for April 28, Poudel informed. The election programme includes the withdrawal of candidacy and publication of final list of candidates on April 29 and providing election symbol to the candidates on April 30.
