Economy is not in shambles as rumoured: Minister Jhakri

KATHMANDU: Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhakri has argued that Nepal's economy is not in shambles as talked about in the market. At a programme in the Capital City on Saturday, Minister Jhakri said it is not unusual to have a trivial pressure on economy. "Country's economy is not in crisis as rumoured in the market. The situation is not panicking," she stated. Some impacts of price hikes in the crude oil in the Gulf countries and Russia-Ukraine war are seen in Nepal's economy but the situation is not serious, according to Minister Jhakri. Minister Jhakri also cautioned the stakeholders not to create artificial shortage of goods in the market by spreading rumours. Stressing the use of electric appliances for import replacement, she called for promoting domestic industries to boost the economy. On the occasion, Jhakri said the government has initiated actions after an investigation of those engaged in the leakage of sensitive and confidential information. By RSS READ ALSO:
