Feasibility study underway to re-operate Janakpur Cigarette Factory: Minister Badu

JANAKPURDHAM: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu has said that the government is conducting a feasibility study to revive Janakpur Cigarette Factory in Janakpur. Talking to mediapersons after monitoring the factory that is defunct at present, Minister Badu informed that the government will take decision after conducting studies on modalities to re-operate sick industries across the country. According to him, he was making on-site inspections of the factory as a part of the government's plan to re-operate sick industries. The government aims to reduce trade deficit by substituting imports in cooperation with private sector, and to increase productivity and create jobs. Minister Badu said that he arrived here to take stock of the once very famous factory and its machinery condition as well as its assets. He was accompanied by Madhesh Province Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Ram Saroj Yadav and the provincial government employees among others.
