Finance Minister Mahat, WB VP for South Asia hold telephone conversation

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat held a telephone conversation with World Bank Vice President for South Asia region Martin Raiser. In the conversation, the two discussed the effectiveness and the implementation of the development policy credit (DPC) review. There will be further discussion regarding the DPC review in Nepal in June, according to the Finance Minister's secretariat. The World Bank has a huge investment in Nepal for the development of global physical infrastructure. During the conversation, the two discussed the prospect of increasing such investment in Nepal and implementing effectively. The Finance Minister enquired about how the country can utilise the World Bank's support in infrastructure development. The matter was discussed as the World Bank, which is leading the Upper Arun Hydroelectric Project, is also looking for more investors in the project. There was a positive response from WB Regional Vice President regarding Finance Minister Mahat's interest, said the minister's secretariat. READ ALSO:
