Finance Minister Sharma leads Nepali delegation at WB Group, IMF annual meetings

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma reached Washington DC, the capital of the USA, on Tuesday evening. Minister Sharma is in the US to participate in the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Nepal's ambassador to the USA, Shreedhar Khatri and embassy representatives welcomed Finance Minister Sharma at the airport. The annual meetings of the World Bank Group began on Tuesday and will continue till October 16. Finance Minister Sharma is leading the Nepali delegation to the annual meetings of WB Group. The Nepali delegation comprises Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Pushkar and other high officials of the central bank and the Finance Ministry. Finance Minister Sharma is scheduled to attend the World Bank voting group as well as various ministerial-level sessions today. He will also be meeting with high officials of USAID, the World Bank and IMF, the Nepali Embassy in Washington DC stated.
