FinMin collects public suggestions for upcoming budget

KATHMANDU: Ministry of Finance has collected public suggestions for the budget for the fiscal year 2022/23. The ministry has launched toll-free number 1138 to collect public suggestions and recommendations on the budget.

Suggestions have come from various districts across the country. The ministry is currently studying these suggestions and trying to include them in the forthcoming budget.

Under the leadership of Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, the ministry is currently focusing on budget formulation.

Some of the public suggestions collected by the ministry urged to give responsibility for herb cultivation, production and collection to community forests. It has been suggested to make the system of providing subsidies to farmers very simple. Some of the suggestions underscored the need to increase investment in the hydro sector. While others have urged to allow discount on customs in the import of electric cooktops and electric vehicles priced below Rs 1 million in order to minimise the import of petroleum products.
