KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has formed a high-level expert group.
The FNCCI formed the expert group involving personalities who have gained expertise in various fields to make the role of private sector more effective in the economy.
The newly formed group comprises former vice-chairman of National Planning Commission (NPC), Govinda Raj Pokharel; former member of NPC, Ganesh Gurung; former secretaries of the Government of Nepal, Purushottam Ojha and Shishir Dhungana; and economists Keshav Acharya and Kalpana Khanal.
The first meeting of the group was held at the FNCCI Secretariat, on Tuesday.
FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal expressed his belief that the formation of the expert group would provide support to effectively submit the recommendations of the federation to the government.
The group’s first meeting emphasized that the central bank and the government should increase the confidence of the private sector to improve the economy from the current situation.
