FNCCI urges Chief Secretary Aryal to reduce cost of doing business

KATHMANDU: A delegation led by Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal met with newly appointed Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Baikuntha Aryal, and congratulated him. In the meeting with Chief Secretary Aryal, FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal suggested that the government should take special measures to bring the economy out of the recession. He opined the changes made in the Finance bill had a negative impact on various enterprises and businesses. Dhakal informed that the FNCCI is raising the issues of the dignity of the private sector and stressed that the government should raise the morale of entrepreneurs in the current situation. Responding to the FNCCI delegation, Chief Secretary Aryal said that he will take special initiatives to reduce the cost of doing business and added he will also coordinate with the relevant agencies to improve the current economic situation. FNCCI President Dhakal also suggested making arrangements for district and municipal chambers of Commerce and industry to organise fairs and festivals in the districts and municipals. On the occasion, FNCCI Senior Vice President Anjan Shrestha stressed that the government should have a clear policy on the private sector. FNCCI Vice President (Industry Commerce) Sur Krishna Vaidya and Vice President (Commodity) Hem Raj Dhakal said that the government should take initiatives to reduce the cost of doing business as small entrepreneurs are affected due to rising interest rates.
