FNNTE demands withdrawal of price hike of petroleum products

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has demanded the government to withdraw the hike in the price of petroleum products.

Issuing a press release on Monday, Federation Chairperson Yogendra Nath Karmacharya asked the government to immediately withdraw the price hike of petroleum products made from the current fiscal year till now, adding that entrepreneurs have not been able to pay interest and instalment of banks and financial institutions following coronavirus pandemic.

“It is unfortunate to increase the price of petroleum products by Nepal Oil Corporation time and again directly affecting the transport entrepreneurs and general consumers. The price hike should be withdrawn immediately”, reads the statement.

The Federation has warned of launching an agitation programme if the price hike of petroleum products is not withdrawn.
