
KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Anita Dhungana, a resident of Lamjung district, as a member of National Planning Commission.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers in Singha Darbar, Kathmandu decided to approve the participation of a delegation led by Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat to the Seventh Assembly of the Global Environment Facility and related meetings to be held in Vancouver of Canada from coming August 22 to 26.
Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said the government has decided to approve the use of the national forest area for the upgrading of the Sindhulimadi-Bhimsthan-Chakamke-Udayapur-Katari road section and to use the national forest area of Taplejung district for the construction of the transmission line of the Mid-Tamor Hydropower Project.
Similarly, the Cabinet has decided to approve the use of the national forest area in Sankhuwasabha district to build the physical infrastructure for Lankhuwakhola small hydropower project.
