Government urges private sector to give holidays on Nov 20, 21

KATHMANDU: The government has requested the private sector to give two days of public holiday in their industries, corporation and offices for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly. Stating that the government has decided to give a two-day holiday to government offices and public bodies in connection with the elections, the Ministry of Home Affairs has requested the private sector to make arrangements for public holidays on November 20 and 21 in their respective establishments, industries and offices. The Ministry has also communicated the request to the private sector umbrella organisations including Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries, Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs, Joint Trade Union Coordination Centre, Air Service Operators Association, National and International NGOs and other umbrella organisations of the private sector, said MoHA Joint Secretary Fanindra Mani Pokharel. Earlier, the government had decided to give a public holiday for government and public bodies on November 20 and 21 and for schools from November 18 to 21. Similarly, Tribhuvan University has also given a public holiday to its campuses and office from today until November 21. READ ALSO:
