KATHMANDU: The government has announced to conduct economic policy effectively. It was informed during the presentation of policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2023/24 in the joint meeting of the House of Representatives and National Assembly of the Federal Parliaments on Friday.
President Ramchandra Paudel presented the policies and programmes and stated that the role of diplomatic missions and their chiefs will be evaluated based on the mobilisation of foreign investment in Nepal, and promotion of tourism and exports. The country's foreign missions will be reviewed and strengthened.
Nepal's foreign policy will be conducted in a balanced manner based on UN Charter, non-alignment policy and Panchasheel principles. The bilateral relations will be maintained based on sovereign equality, and mutual respect and benefit, the President added.
Efforts will be made to send peacekeeping missions under the UN ensuring a leading position.
Moreover, all sorts of problems relating to borders will be resolved via diplomatic channels by protecting the country's independence and sovereignty.
Nepal's role in multilateral and global forums including the UN will be made more effective, the President stressed.
