Govt releases Rs 1 billion to provide relief to farmers

KATHMANDU: The government has released Rs 1 billion to provide relief to the farmers who incurred loss and damage in paddy plantations due to unseasonal rainfall. Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand said the government has decided to compensate the loss in keeping with the criteria and process determined by the District Disaster Management Committee. A meeting presided over by Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey attended by Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Govinda Prasad Sharma, decided to provide relief amount only to the farmers who faced loss due to damage in their crops. The relief amount will be provided to the indigent farmers as per the guideline, 2078 to that effect. By RSS READ ALSO:
