“The reason E-Arts Nepal hosts the annual Himalayan Art Festival before Dashain is so that people invest in art. Auto Shows and multitudes of events target the purchasing power of consumers pre-Dashain and Tihar. They lure consumers to purchase their product or services, and we are also giving people an alternative to celebrate the festive season with much fervor,” briefed Erina Tamrakar, Festival Coordinator
It was an art festival to its truest sense as visitors were exposed to performance art, paintings, paubha, sculptures, print, photographs, installations and ceramic art forms. Each day of the five day event (September 11-15) held at Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal was packed with activities.
Works of veteran artists Shashi Kala Tiwari, Shashi Shah, Seema Sharma Shah, Uma Shankar Shah, Gopal Kalapremi Shrestha were a feast for the eyes. Works of promising artists like Manish Lal Shrestha, Jupiter Pradhan, Sanjeev Maharjan, Shrawan Shakya, Rishita KC, Krishna Manandhar, Rajan Panta, Meena Kayastha, Kapil Mani Dixit were also on display. The majority of art works were also on sale.
