IME Motors hands over 8 mass casualty vehicles to NDRRMA

KATHMANDU: IME Motors, the sole authorised distributor of Ashok Leyland Commercial vehicles in Nepal, handed over eight units of Mass Casualty Vehicle equivalent to mobile hospital, to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. [gallery columns="1" size="full" link="file" ids="26731,26730,26729"] Further, NDRRMA handed over the vehicles to Armed Police Force (APF) amid a programme organised at Humanitarian Staging Area (HSA) in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on July 23. The vehicles were delivered by IME Group Chairman, also Senior Vice President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal. The Mass Casualty Vehicle has a 6-bed capacity, and critical care facilities such as advanced life support devices, portable ventilator, patient monitor, syringe pump, infusion pump, defibrillator, Oxygen concentrator, ECG machine, Ultrasound machine and other Infectious control instruments. These are Nepal’s first Mass Casualty Vehicles. The vehicle is also equipped with CCTV camera and can be monitored centrally. In addition, IME Group Chairman Dhakal said, this kind of fully equipped mass casualty vehicle is the first of its kind in Nepal and will definitely help for the treatment of the patient on-site. And the mass transfer of patients from the disaster site to a nearby hospital. Further, he added, the mortality rate can be reduced during the transport from casualty site to hospital as the vehicle itself is a small moving hospital. IME Motors is the distributor for a wide range of commercial vehicles — trucks, tippers, buses, light commercial vehicles, defence vehicles for special purpose, special ambulances, mortuary vans — and others suitable for the Nepali Market.
