BEDKOT: India has opened a road track to gain access to the dry port in Dodhara Chadani Municipality-1 of Kanchanpur district. The road track has been opened up to Nepali border by felling around 2,000 trees in Indian territory. Mayor of Dodhara Chadani Municipality, Kishor Limbu, shared that the Indian side has opened the track up to Nepal-India border from the national highway based in bordering Chakkarpur market. "The Indian side has opened the track after clearing the forest in its territory," Limbu informed, adding that the opening of the track to Nepali border has been completed. The four-lane track of about four kilometres (km) has established connectivity between Chakarpur of Champawat district of Uttarakhand, India and Gadigoth in Nepal. It may be noted that a contract amounting to Rs 2 billion was awarded six months ago for the construction of the access road. As per the contract, the access road construction should be completed within one-and-a-half years of the signing. The next task is the blacktopping of the road.
