Industry Ministry holds meet to discuss trade deficit reduction

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies held a meeting related to trade deficit reduction action plan and implementation of Nepal trade integrated strategy on Wednesday. In the meeting, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal urged all sides to play their part with honesty to reduce the trade deficit. Minister Rijal opined that support of all sectors was necessary for trade deficit reduction. He stressed that policies have to get the desired results citing that policies are formulated but are hardly implemented. The industry minister mentioned, "Success will be achieved in export trade promotion, trade deficit reduction and current situation of earning foreign exchange by running targeted activities with required resources as per the Nepal Trade Integrated Strategy, 2080." National Action Plan related to Trade Deficit Reduction was passed by the cabinet on April 11 to address the increasing trade deficit. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on May 9 passed Nepal Trade Integrated Strategy, 2080. READ ALSO:
