MAW Enterprises, the authorised dealers of JEEP automobiles for Nepal, launched yet another model of Jeep: the Compass Trailhawk in the domestic market. The new All-Wheel Drive (AWD) SUV boasts of a BSVI (BS6) compliant engine, better transmission, improved fuel efficiency, superior off-roading capability and multiple terrain modes.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk is powered by a BS6-compliant, 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that makes 173 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. The motor is offered with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new off-roader comes with Jeep Active Drive 4×4 Low. One gets an option for a new ‘Rock Mode’ in terrain selection, along with Auto, Snow, Mud and Sand modes.
There is an anti-glare decal on the hood of Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The off-roader gets a new front bumper. At the front and rear, we see matte neutral grey “Compass Trailhawk” monograms. The iconic 7-slot grille gives Trailhawk a feeling that it belongs to the Jeep family. There are 17-inch alloy wheels as well. The AWD SUV comes with a Ruby Red tow hook at the rear.
Inside the cabin of Jeep Compass Trailhawk, one gets features like an 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment system with built-in navigation and 7-inch multi-information display. The vehicle comes with an overall black interior theme with red accents. There is red embroidered stitching on the upholstery and steering wheel. Other features include cruise control, engine stop/start and a panoramic sunroof.
Jeep has taken ample care of the safety of its passengers in Compass Trailhawk with more than 50 safety and security features. There are six airbags, including side full curtain airbags. Other features include Roll Over Mitigation, speed warning system, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), hill descent control (HDC), electronic stability control (ESC), electronic parking brake (EPB), traction control system (TCS), cornering fog lamps and pedestrian protection.
Along with a 205 mm ground clearance, Jeep Compass Trailhawk also comes with an 840 mm water fording capacity. The SUV also gets 3 mm under-body steel skid plates. A 20:1 crawl ratio results in better control during off-roading. MAW Enterprises launched Jeep Compass Trailhawk at NADA Auto Show 2019 for an introductory price of Rs 1.24 crore.
