Kathmandu – third most expensive city in South Asia

According to a report by Economist Intelligence Unit, a division of the Economist group, Kathmandu has become the third most expensive city of South Asia. Cost of living is more than New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Karachi. The report shows Kathmandu placed at 116th position. The report states that half of the world’s ten most expensive cities for living are in Asia with Singapore and Hong Kong taking the top two spots. The survey has compared more than 400 individual prices across 160 goods and services in 133 cities around the world.
