KMC to administer first, second doses of Vero Cell on Nov 23, 24; booster dose of AstraZeneca included

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) will administer the first and second doses of the Vero Cell vaccine on November 23 and 24. The second dose of vaccines against COVID-19 to be administered on Tuesday and Wednesday includes Covishield and AstraZeneca vaccines.  The booster dose of AstraZeneca will be made available to those who have already been vaccinated with the first dose eight weeks ago. The KMC said the vaccines will be made available to the citizens above 18 years from the vaccination booths in all 32 wards of the metropolis from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Likewise, the booster dose of Vero Cell will be administered to those who have been vaccinated 21 days before. Those who have missed taking vaccines have been urged to visit the nearby vaccination centres along with citizenship certificates or other identity cards with photos, electronic vaccine registration cards or vaccine cards in print form. Moreover, the government started vaccinating its population aged above 12 and below 18 with Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines yesterday, Deputy Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Samir Kumar Adhikari told Business 360. Earlier, Pfizer vaccines were being administered to children with morbid health conditions like heart disease and diabetes in the first phase. The Pfizer vaccine is being administered from 24 hospitals in Kathmandu valley, Adhikari said and added, "We have a limited number of Pfizer vaccines so the vaccination for children will be continued till it lasts. Children above 12 and below 18 are required to produce Date of Birth Registration card to receive the vaccine. READ ALSO:
