Lifebuoy celebrates Global Hand Washing Day with a High5

Unilever’s popular soap brand, Lifebuoy has been a pioneer in promoting the lifesaving habit of hand washing with soap and helping people adopt it as a daily habit. Unilever Nepal has well-articulated the global Unilever Sustainable Living Plan into a Nepali blend: Swastha Nepal, Sakchham Nepal and Hamro Nepal. The brand had committed to reach out to 10% of the Nepali population within 5 years in 2014 and teach them the simple yet lifesaving habit. Ahead of the committed time, Lifebuoy has already reached out to 31 lakh Nepalis through the School of Five campaign, teaching them and helping them inculcate hand washing as a routine practice. As a part of the global occasion this year, it has launched the High5 campaign wherein interested participants can share a picture of them giving a High5 on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #High5 forHandwashing and tag it to @lifebuoynepal. For every High5 photo received, Lifebuoy commits to teach hand washing behaviour to five kids. Championing the campaign is renowned actor Rajesh Hamal.
