Deepak Kumar Agrawal is the Vice President of Jagadamba Motors looking after its entire operations, marketing, logistics, 75 dealers and 500 employees, and three branches of TVS. He has accumulated a wide range of experience in the auto industry and corporate world. He has previously been associated with Volvo Trucks as Business Head, Skoda MAW Nepal as General Manager, United Finance Limited as its AGM and Nekon KB Plasto Engg Industries as General Manager.

There is fierce competition in the two wheeler segment, how do you ensure that your brand stands out in the competition?

The competition itself gives me motivation. Unless there is competition, you do not force yourself to think of something new. With better product, quality, operation, distribution, marketing ideas, we are absolutely standing out. We are number one in terms of quality and distribution strategies. We have a 360 degree approach in marketing. We have different strategies for different markets. We are not only Kathmandu-centric. For example speed and racing could be a focus strategy for Kathmandu but which may not work in other parts of the country, so we promote differently. We are the fastest growing brand in the country. In the last one and a half years, we have doubled the volume not only in terms of number, we have also increased our network, sales and service outlets and customer satisfaction level. We have almost 180 service centers all over the country. And we have all range of bikes to meet the needs of female college students, elderly people or office going persons.

What will be your major attraction at NADA Auto Show?

We will be showcasing RTR 200 and Stryker 125. We are trying to get new products. TVS RTR 160 will be another major attraction but it’s yet undecided.

What are the benefits of participating in the NADA Auto Show?

It’s a good platform to enhance one’s brand. It’s one platform where you meet auto enthusiasts, auto entrepreneurs, and demonstrate your strength and gauge the strength of competitors. Additionally, it is a single platform for customers to compare between products and help understand market and product dynamics.
