Nepal Airlines to operate direct flights to Saudi Arabia from April 22

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will conduct direct flights from Kathmandu to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia from April 22. NAC's wide-body Airbus aircraft (A330-200) will take the flight to Saudi Arabia, according to NAC. "The direct flight to Saudi Arabia is a matter of pride for the national flag carrier," said Ubraj Adhikari, Executive Chairman of NAC, and added, additional destinations will be explored and service expanded gradually. NAC has acquired permission to operate flights to Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. It is learnt that there will be two Kathmandu-Riyadh-Kathmandu flights in a week. The NAC would expand the flights to thrice a week after studying the situation. The national flag carrier has been expanding the service in line with the initiative and direction of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale. The NAC officials including Executive Chairman Adhikari had visited Saudi Arabia for flight permission two months back. For now, the one-way flight costs Rs 37,000, according to NAC Spokesperson Archana Khadka. Both the wide-body and narrow-body planes will be used for the flights. The wide-body aircraft will take the inaugural flight to Saudi Arabia. READ ALSO:
