Nepal Electric, Power and Lights Int'l Expo, Nepal EV Int'l show kick off in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Nepal Electric, Power and Lights International Expo, Nepal Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances Expo, and Nepal EV International Show kicked off in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu today.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Prasanna Shrivastava, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), at the Embassy of India to Nepal, Nepal Electrical Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kul Man Ghising among others attended the inaugural ceremony.

The exhibition is co-organised by Media Space Solutions, Futurex Trade Fare, and Events, the Exhibition and Trade Services India, and Electric Vehicle Manufacturers and Importers Association of Nepal.

The three-day exhibition aims to boost the consumption of increasing electricity production in Nepal through the use of electric appliances and vehicles thus strengthening the economy of the country, said the organisers.

More than 100 stalls have been set up in the expo showcasing charging stations, household siring and electric goods, two-wheeler and four-wheeler electric vehicles, electric cycles and consumer electronic goods and equipment.

The exhibition also aims to promote and encourage electric vehicles, and help develop the trade of electrical equipment, and facilitate and promote the domestic and international trade of electrical equipment, it is said.
